Our work together starts with you answering a few pre-program questions and setting your goals for the program.
Week by week breakdown
Week 1: Dump the diet mindset. Learn why diets don’t work in the long term; we’ll debunk the myths of dieting and weight loss. In this session, you’ll have a chance to share your experience with other group members. Later we will do a recap and short exercise. Finally, your action step will be to explore how dieting has affected your life in the past and how it shows up in subtle ways throughout your daily life.
Week 2: Body Awareness. You’ll learn about body awareness and how to build that awareness with easy step-by-step tools. Your action step for this week will be practicing tuning into your body so you can recognize the subtle signals it gives you.
Week 3: Learn to honour your hunger. Learn about the types of hunger during the teaching session. Then, as a group, we’ll practice getting you in tune with your signals of hunger/fullness. The weekly action step will reinforce bodily awareness so you can start to trust your body again.
Week 4: Eat without feeling guilty. This week you’ll learn to reframe your thoughts about food. In mini-groups, you’ll help each other identify your “forbidden” foods. This week’s homework will be to practice reframing and preparing yourself for a mindful eating experience together in week 5.
Week 5: Mindful eating. You’ll learn about how to make meals more pleasurable and satisfying, and dodge distractions, so your meals are more enjoyable. With the group, we’ll practice eating mindfully, using all your five senses. This week, your action steps will build your ability to experiment with different foods and make meals more satisfying while avoiding distractions.
Week 6: Resourcing techniques through C.A.R.E. ( Capacity. Awareness, Resourcing. Education) You’ll learn self-resourcing techniques to calm your emotions, cope with stress, and explore healthier ways of meeting your real emotional needs. This week your action step is to journal your experience as you practice one or two resourcing techniques during trigger times to break your patterns and calm your system.
Week 7: Learn about potential setbacks. Learn how to can avoid emotional eating during vulnerable times such as awkward social interactions, holidays, and uncomfortable family settings. Homework will help you craft your own plan to deal with these situations in healthy ways.
Week 8: This week, we bring together the work we’ve done over the seven weeks during our 1-1 call. It’s about YOU going on to live your best possible life as your True Self. Setting your goals, instilling resourcing techniques to avoid setbacks and looking to the future with confidence.
