I know you want to make peace with your body and nourish yourself rather than use food to escape your stressful life. But, believe me, it is possible. I've done it before. Now I help women quit dieting, end binge and emotional eating, become confident in their bodies, feel empowered and nourish themselves without fear of losing control.

Hi, I’m Stephenie, a Trauma-Informed Intuitive Eating Counsellor and Body Confidence Coach.

Yeah, that’s a mouthful, I know. So let me break it down a bit.

Trauma-informed. This doesn’t mean I’ve read about trauma. It means I’ve experienced trauma. For example, I spent my life enduring severe criticism from my narcissistic mother. When I was a child, she would feed me cake and say, “You’d be so pretty if you just lost weight.” How confusing is that to a five-year-old? I was bullied, teased, and humiliated by classmates at school because I was bigger than they were. As an adult, I spent far too many years in abusive relationships with self-absorbed men who could not truly love me because of their own trauma. This brought up childhood wounds of feeling “not good enough” or “worthy enough” of being loved. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it was suffering from complex post-traumatic stress from all the abuse. This trauma caused and maintained my poor body image and disordered eating. 

Intuitive Eating. Thankfully, I discovered a way to forget dieting, bingeing, and my rigid food rules. No matter how desperate you feel your case is, it is possible to tune in and trust your body knows what it needs and when it’s had enough. Rather than eating your emotions and feeling out of control, Intuitive Eating allows you to rediscover the pleasure that comes from nourishing and reconnecting with your body. 

Body Confidence. I went through most of my life feeling “less than” and “not enough.” I don’t want you to stay stuck there as long as I did. When we get to the root and heal the impact trauma has on you, you can let go of the food, feel safe in your body, reclaim your confidence and self-trust.  

It’s not about what you’ve been eating. It’s about what’s eating you.  

Credentials. I’ve walked the path of recovery, and I’m certified in the brain, mind, and body-based techniques that have transformed my life.
